First vid was recorded on 5-29-21, while the second vid was recorded today. This was another crossing I forgot to make a post about on here. Both times I've filmed this crossing in action have featured empty coal trains that would be sitting just before the crossing to wait for the block signal down the line to turn green from a flashing yellow. I've seen various videos by Railfan Jason, KC Railfanning, and other railfanners who have filmed this spot at some point. These signals were installed around 2006 replacing a pair of older gated signals which dated back to the MoPac days.
(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jZTSdDbfqck) At 0:26 you can see one of the old signals this crossing used to have. At the time before the big upgrade of 2006, this crossing had a pair of safetran gate mechanisms with safetran 12x20 incandescent lights, safetran signal bases, two safetran mechanical bells, and what appears to be Reco 4 inch incandescent gate lights. After the big upgrade of 2006 came in (which resulted in the City wanted to install the median at this crossing, as well as the sidewalks), UP redid the crossing and installed the current signals here which consists of two Harmon Cantilevers with Harmon Fading Leds in Harmon light frames, two WCH gate mechanisms with WCH 2nd gen leds in WCH light frames for the rear lights, two WCH type 1.5 e bells, and Electro-Tech led gate lights. Even though the old MoPac signals are since long gone, It was still nice filming this crossing nonetheless.
