Both vids were recorded on 4-16-22. After catching the manifest at 88th St, I went over to Edwardsville to catch some more trains while I was in the area. I was originally wanting to film another vid at 4th St (the very first crossing on the Kansas Sub I filmed in action), but unfortunately that crossing was closed off for construction. So I ended up filming here instead. Shortly later I heard another train approaching in the distance. By the time I got to near my camera, the crossing had already activated since the train was going really fast. The train in this 1st vid was a westbound stacktrain with a solo gevo leading. The 2nd vid turned out better minus the stupid autofocus going blurry. Anyway, After the stacktrain flew by, I stayed to see if another train was to go by since I wanted a more "proper" vid of this crossing since I missed the activation in the previous vid. Fortunately I was in luck since an eastbound was about to fly by. This time, I hit the record button right as the train was about to blow its horn for 4th St. Crossing itself is another former MoPac era setup with changes done by UP at various points of time. Another crossing that features a pair of Walpar Industries cantilevers. Like the other crossings I have filmed on this line, this crossing used to have incandescent lights until UP replaced them with Electro-Tech leds around 2011. Both bells were wch mechanical bells until UP replaced them with wch e bells the same year. Crossing went unchanged until sometime around 2021 as UP for some reason replaced the entire mast signal on the far side with a newer Siemens signal with GE Dotted leds, and an NEG e bell.
