*originally recorded on 12-21-22*

Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Modern Industries 8 inch lights, a General Signals Type 2 electronic bell, a GRS gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.
Signal on the right: 3 pairs of Modern Industries 8 inch lights, a GRS gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.

This was the last crossing we chased M531 to. Like with the previous crossing, M531 got held-up in New Johnsonville for a bit, for some reason, but after a little while of waiting here, it came on through for our last catch of the train.

This crossing is another nice one, featuring another nice 1970s L&N install that's still fairly original. It appears that in the 2000s, CSX replaced the bell here with the current GS Type 2, but that appears to be the only major change to this crossing since it was installed, thankfully. It was nice being able to record more Modern Industries 8 inch lights and GRS gate mechs here, always do like seeing those. The two being paired together like this honestly always screams "classic L&N" to me for some reason. One of the side lights on the closer signal here is in need of some TLC though, as it barely lights-up. Seems like either the lens is very dirty/partially painted over or the reflector in it has gone bad/been broken (if not both), but it very much doesn't light-up properly.
Other than fixing that light though, hopefully these classic L&N signals continue to remain here for many more years to come without any major changes to them. Either way, I'm glad I was able to record this guy when I did.
