*originally recorded on 6-24-23*
Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights, a Safetran Type 3 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights, a Safetran Type 3 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and NEG gate lights.
After catching the near-perfect meet of 732 and 283, I decided to head over to this crossing and see if I could get it recorded before heading home as well. Sadly, I wound-up having to wait until after dark, but I was eventually able to get one final train here, and thankfully there was plenty of ambient light for at least a decent video. This train was NS 16Z, which had a pair of AC44C6Ms for power and a load of tanks on the head-end. Certainly not a bad train to end the day off with, that's for sure.
This crossing is a pretty nice little one, and is one I'd been wanting to shoot for a while. Admittedly, the signals ain't really anything too special, as they're just a pair of mid to late-2000s NS signals, but they are still largely original, outside of the far signal's gate lights being upgraded to RECO LEDs at some point. Both signals do still retain their original diagonally-striped gate arms, which is quite neat to see. I'm planning to go back out to the Shoals today (on the day I'm posting this), so hopefully I can see about getting a daytime video of this crossing. Definitely glad to have an at least useable video of it now though.
