Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights, a General Signals Type 2 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO gate lights.
After I got NS 320 leaving Sheffield, I chased it on south along the NS NA District to get more crossings filmed (and refilmed) along it. This was the first crossing I chased NS 320 to.
This crossing's a fairly decent one, and was the last crossing in downtown Russellville I needed to film. This is also the southernmost crossing in downtown Russellville, meaning you get some nice horn action as the train approaches the crossing.
The signals here were originally a late-SOU GRS install, with both signals having 8 inch GRS Lex-C lights and a GRS Type D gate mechanism, while the closer one had a Safetran mechanical bell. It appears that not too long after those signals were installed, the front-left light on the closer signal got struck and was replaced with another 8 inch light, I believe a Safetran one. It seems these signals remained largely unchanged, until 2011 or so, when the SOU signals here were replaced with the current ones. Since then, no major changes appear to have occurred here, outside of the far signal having its NEG gate lights replaced with the current RECO LEDs sometime after 2014. One thing that is nice to see with this crossing is the fact that both signals still retain their old diagonally-striped gate arms.
