After CSX M203 came through, I went up to this crossing as I heard there was an M583 coming south as well. Thankfully, I was able to get here and get set-up with a bit of time to spare. Not too long after I got here, CSX M583 came through hot on the heels of M203, with an ES44AH leading a Dash-9 and an SD40-3 for power. After this, nothing else seemed to be in the area, so I tried to get a recording of the Cartersville DD and headed on home.

This crossing is another nice one, being a somewhat modernized 1980s CSX install. It appears that this crossing was fairly original up until sometime in the early 2020s, when CSX replaced the original WCH mechanical bell here with the current NEG electronic bell. Then, in early-2022 (assuming the bell was replaced before), CSX upgraded the lights here to LED, alongside the rest of the W&A Sub. Thankfully, since then, no further major changes appear to have occurred here.
Admittedly, although there are other crossings in Cartersville with GRS gate mechs I could've recorded, I decided to go for this guy as I wanted to record some more WCH gate mechs. Thankfully, this crossing still has its original pair, so I got to film them. Do kinda wish there were more of these older WCH gate mechs near me, as I always love seeing these things, but I suppose I can always hit-up the ones that exist on the CSX Chattanooga Sub, ATN Birmingham Sub, and/or BNSF Birmingham Sub again (and honestly, I probably should go back and refilm the pair in Docena at some point soon-ish).
