Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Modern Industries 12x24 inch lights.
Signal on the right: 1.5 pairs of Modern Industries 12x24 inch lights, a Safetran 12x24 inch light, and a Safetran Type 2 electronic bell.
On December 6th, I got on up and got out the door to head for Bowling Green for some more crossings. On my way up, I heard the Fountainhead DD reading-out for a southbound, so I quickly swung my car around and made my way over to this crossing. After a few minutes, I was able to get this all-autorack M587 rolling through with an ES44AH pulling and another ES44AH working as the mid-train DPU.
The signals here are pretty nice, featuring what appears to be a late-L&N/early-SBD install that's still mostly original. It appears these signals replaced something older, based on the finial atop the far signal. In the mid-1990s, CSX replaced the front-right light with the current Safetran 12x24. Then, in the 2000s, CSX replaced the bell here with the current Safetran Type 2. Since then, however, thankfully no major changes have occurred to this crossing, and these nice older gateless signals remain in service.
