After catching L606 in Wake Forest, I quickly hopped back in my car and raced on down to Raleigh for one more crossing that I wanted to try to get. Thankfully, I managed to beat it to this crossing and get set-up with only about 30 seconds to spare. Here we see CSX L606 for the second, and final time on this chase. After this, I went down to Cary to check into @EthantheRailfanner and I's hotel for the remainder of the trip.

This crossing is another nice one, featuring a 1980s CSX install at it that's still decently original. I suspect this must've replaced something older, given that a Safetran mechanical bell was reused onto the far signal as the bell here. Either way, in the late-90s, CSX replaced three of the lights on the far cantilever with the current Harmon 12x24 inch lights, followed by the front-right cantilever mast light on the closer signal being replaced with the current Safetran 12x24 inch light in the early-2000s. Then, in the mid-2000s, CSX upgraded the overhead lights on this crossing to LED. Finally, sometime between 2016 and 2018, CSX upgraded the mast lights here to LED as well.
Thankfully, since then, no further changes appear to have occurred to this crossing. I'm glad to see the Safetran mechanical bell still around here and sounding nice and healthy, so hopefully it'll be here for many more years to come. It was also nice getting another pair of WCH gate mechs filmed, it doesn't seem like there's a lot on the Norlina Sub. This also wound-up being the last crossing I recorded on this trip with WCH gate mechs, and it certainly was a good one to end this day off with. All in all, I'd say this day was certainly successful, even if L606 slipped away from Ethan and I as it left going south from Henderson.
