Winter Storm Blair
I'm sure you all have probably heard on the news about the upcoming winter storm that's supposed to start this weekend in the Midwest, and going into next week into the Northeast with the arctic air mass outbreak (aka Polar Vortex) following suite along with a severe weather outbreak to the deep south. The NWS has already issued Winter Storm Watches/Advisories which ahead of the storms including for the entire state of Missouri, and the plows are already out on the roads pre-treating them. We'll definitely see record lows with temps being below zero with the snow and ice sticking around for a week. I already postponed my railfanning plans I had for next week due to the frigid temps. Hopefully my area doesn't lose power from the storms.
Proud owner of 7 mechanical bells along with a pair of safetran 12x20 lights and a 8 inch light. Been a fan of trains since I was little. Main place I railfan on, The Sedalia Sub.

Re: Winter Storm Blair
Here's the video I took of the snow as it fell in my area yesterday. My area got around 9 inches of snow while places north of us like Atchison, KS had like 15 inches. Fortunately our power didn't go out, although there were reports of power outages that did occur especially in southern Missouri where they got hammered with a major ice storm.
While on the subject of ice, on Saturday during the freezing rain event, a pile-up did occur on I-470 over at the Grandview Triangle. Highway was backed up all the way to Lee's Summit. No word if there were any serious injuries or fatalities that occurred in this incident.
This storm broke the records of past significant winter storms which rolled through KC. I was thankfully fortunate enough to make it home safely as I happened to been at a model train show at the time the storm rolled through. All the schools in my area are closed until Wednesday as a result of the streets not being plowed, and also the sub zero temps which are supposed to last the whole week. I also heard we may see more snow, but the totals for that appear to just be a dusting up to an inch at most, but that could change, but for that storm, the worst of it will hit around Texas according to Reed Timmer's community post on YouTube.
