Ok, finaly met up with the guy that was swaping me a modern all alum crossing light set up with pole, base, light heads ect, everything is Safetran except for the WC Hayes bell. I need to finish wiring the bell to a seperate switch. I have my FN16a flasher relay with power supply on a shelf in the garage. I treated the base with water sealer since its just a thick piece of plywood and a 2x4 base. He had this set up indoors, thus a very short pole. But it works great for me, its self supporting and very stable. Still debating whether I like the big 12" dia lights or not. I am still a bigger fan of the smaller lights. Enjoy. Mike

I'd go with 8" because of the short height of the signal, but thats just me.

24" backgrounds does seem quite big for that tiny signal, but at least it works.

I like it... but 8" lights might make the proportions just a little better.

Comparing that signal to the tracks in that picture... wouldn't it be cool to have a signal that size in real life? I bet people would still disregard it though!

if I activate it at night, it lights up the neigbors house across the cul-de-sac from us. I am of mixed feelings on the large lense lights, never cared for them when they first came out. I like this version better with the big targets. I dont like the smaller targets with the 12" lamps at all. If I get a chance to get 4 matching 8" lamps, I will, then I can change them when I feel like being different. I even have 1 spare 12" lamp, I needed a visor and target, and the guy gave me a whole light head instead. I do need a cover plate for the base junction box, its a Safetran base. If anybody has a spare, please let me know. Mike
