*originally recorded on 3-22-25*

Signal on the left: 2 pairs of WCH 8 inch lights, a GRS gate mechanism, and NEG LED gate lights.
Signal on the right: 2.5 pairs of Federal Signal 8 inch lights, a Modern Industries mechanical bell, a GRS gate mechanism, and NEG LED gate lights.

After getting the siren test in Brownsville, and snagging ourselves some lunch, madisoncountysirens4295 and I headed over to Braden, TN, to see about getting the classic Transport Products Corp. gate mech there recorded. Unfortunately, we discovered that CSX had replaced the signal it was on entirely, so we went back up to this crossing in Brownsville to see if we could get anything on the CSX Memphis Subdivision. Thankfully, after a bit of waiting, we were able to catch our third train of the day: CSX M533 with an ET44AH leading an ES44AH for power.

This crossing is a very nice one, and I'm glad I was able to record it. The signals here were installed by the L&N back in the late-70s, and are still almost entirely original. The MI bell here does sound like it's a bit on the weak-side, but I suppose that's to be expected given that these signals are pretty decently old. I'm glad to have been able to record another one, however, along with some more 8 inch lights and GRS Type D gate mechs. Hopefully these classic L&N signals remain here for many more years to come, but, either way, I'm glad I got to film them when I did.
Also, the ENS sign on the closer signal is extremely faded.
