*originally recorded on 3-22-25*

Signal on the left: 5 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights, a Safetran gate mechanism, and NEG LED gate lights.
Signal on the right: 4 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights, a General Signals Type 2 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.

After catching M533 in Brownsville, we didn't think anything else was likely to come before sunset, so we decided to head back down to Middleton to see about getting some crossings on the NS Memphis District West End. After a bit of waiting, we were able to get our fourth train of the day: NS 733 flying by with a BNSF SD70ACe leading a Ferromex SD70ACe on the head-end, and a BNSF ES44AC and another BNSF SD70ACe working as the train's DPUs.

This crossing is a nice one, featuring a late-90s NS install at it that's still fairly original. Sometime between 2008 and 2014, NS replaced the original Safetran mechanical bell here with the current GS Type 2 e-bell, though thankfully, nothing else has changed to this crossing since then. Definitely nice to get another pair of incandescent cantilevers recorded though. Admittedly, the backgrounds on the mast lights here have also gotten rather nicely faded over the years, especially the front pair on the closer signal.
