Now my guess as to why the last two are on the wrong side is that they were positioned like that because of a very sharp curve. Yes I know, now we have additional light sets that are angled so that they are visible. However, given the old age of the system shown, the sharp curve may have caused this. The curve is very sharp if you look accross the tracks. So, the signal was positioned with the curve to make better visibility. This is only a guess though. Thats the best I can come up with. How interesting.
If one has a mishap at the crossing, they may sue for improper positioning.
Hope they install signals on the proper side.
If one is hit by a train at a grade crossing protected by a wigwag signal, they also may be able to see, claiming they do not know what thet signal means.
There are no references to them in drivers manuals.
