Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Modern Industries 12x24 inch lights, a dying WCH mechanical bell, a WCH gate mechanism, and NEG LED gate lights.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of Modern Industries 12x24 inch lights, a WCH mechanical bell, a WCH gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.
After catching Amtrak 41, I hopped on over to this nearby crossing in Lake Como for my next train. After almost two hours of waiting, I was able to get my fourth train of the day: the northbound Amtrak Silver Meteor with an ALC-42 leading a P42DC for power.
This crossing is another great crossing, featuring a late-70s SCL install that's still almost entirely original still! It appears that the only major change here occurred back in the late-80s (or possibly the early-90s), when CSX replaced the lights here with the current MI 12x24s. Thankfully, since then, nothing else too major has changed to this crossing, with it still retaining both of its original WCH gate mechs and even its original pair of 1st Gen WCH mechanical bells! Sadly, the bells here sound a bit on the rough side, and the far one sounds noticeably worse than the closer one. Hopefully CSX gives them a bit of TLC, but, either way, I'm quite glad I got to record this crossing when I did as well.
