Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights with GE Dotted LEDs.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of WCH 12x24 inch lights with GE Dotted LEDs and a General Signals Type 3 electronic bell.
After catching M527 at Consul, I chased them on over to this crossing, where I was able to beat them with a bit of time to spare. Accidentally reset my camera's recording a few seconds before the crossing activated, but I was still able to get CSX M527 rolling past for the seventh time on this day.
This crossing is a pretty decent one, featuring a pretty well modernized gateless crossing. The signals here appear to have originally been an old L&N install, but, the mid-90s it appears, CSX replaced both signals here with newer ones with Safetran 12x24s and a GS e-bell. The crossing remained largely unchanged for a little while, but then, sometime between 2009 and 2014, the MNBR replaced the bell here with a Safetran mechanical bell! Then, sometime between 2014 and 2018, the long abandoned second track here was removed from the crossing, and the MNBR relocated the far signal closer to the remaining active track, though without any other changes to it. After that, unfortunately, sometime between 2018 and 2023, the MNBR replaced the closer signal here entirely with the current one. At about the same time, the far signal was upgraded to LED. Thankfully, since then, nothing else appears to have changed to this crossing. Definitely nice to get another gateless crossing filmed, even if it's been pretty well modernized. Just wish it still had that mechanical bell though.
