*originally recorded on 7-30-25*

Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights, a Safetran gate mechanism, and NEG gate lights.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights, a General Signals Type 2 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and NEG gate lights.

After documenting the upgrade on the CPKC Artesia Sub in Corinth, I filled-up my car and added a quart of oil to it before continuing east. As we were about to leave the gas station, however, an eastbound mixed freight came through Corinth, so @vtgrxrman and I chased it over to this crossing just west of Burnsville. After a little while of waiting, we were able to catch our first train of the afternoon: an eastbound NS mixed freight with an SD70ACe leading an AC44C6M for power.

This crossing is a pretty decent little one, featuring a pair of early-2000s NS signals that are pretty much still entirely original. It appears that the only major change here is that the gate arms were replaced (or at least restriped) sometime after I documented these signals for the site back in 2019. Thankfully, everything else here is still original, and the crossing even still remains fully incandescent, complete with its original NEG gate lights! Hopefully it continues to remain unchanged for many more years to come, but, either way, I'm quite glad I finally got to record it when I did, even if it ain't the most interesting crossing out there. I will admit, I do quite like how the lighting here was at the time, lol.
