After catching 394 in West End-Cobb Town, we continued on down to Roanoke for lunch. After lunch, I decided to swing by the CSX Lineville Sub to continue railfanning. As a northbound was lined through the siding, I decided to hop over to this crossing just west of the city to see about recording it. After a bit of waiting, I was able to get my third train of the day: a northbound CSX intermodal train with a CM44AC leading an ES44AH and a dust-covered AC44CW for power.
This crossing's another pretty nice one, located on a dirt road off of AL 50 and featuring a mid-2000s CSX install at it that's still largely original. The only major change here occurred sometime prior to when I first documented it back in 2022, when the original bell here (I assume this would've been a Safetran Type 3 e-bell, though obviously I can't say for certain) was replaced by the current NEG e-bell. Thankfully, since, then, nothing else appears to have changed since then, and the crossing even still retains all of its original Dialight Ball LEDs! A bit amusingly, both of the NEG LED gate lights here on the tips of the gate arms are dead, while all four of the remaining (original?) RECO LED gate lights here are still going strong, despite the closer one having been installed sometime after my visit to this crossing in 2022.
