This pic caught my eye the other day.

I wonder how many cars coming down the road that are not familiar with the area see this signal and wonder what the heck to do?
Also notice the "crossing signal" type bell on the front of the cab.

Looks a bit confusing with all those red lights, but cool.

I think this is the spot right here:

The Chicago South Shore & South Bend has at least two sections of street running in Michigan City, IN. One on 10th Street and another on 11th Street. Unfortunately it is not marked on the map (ironic since Google has mapped a whole lot of rail lines that no longer exist), but it's pretty easy to follow anyway.
The gated crossing in the background is for another line that crosses the CSS line at a diamond. The gate closes over the South Shore tracks as well as the road!

Looks like the time period in between Google went out there and the time the picture was taken, a few things changed...
The top signal in Street view has 2 lights. The picture has 3.
Also a double posted warning sign is in the picture, but not in Street View.

It looks like they replaced the whole wayside signal, or I could have the wrong location although there are a lot of other things about it that look similar.

Not to mention, that the flashing light crossing signal at the front may have been replaced completely too... and if not, certainly does have a different bell on it most likely... look at the position of the M-bell to the crossbuck on street view... as compared to when you look at the crossbuck and mast in the photo.
