*originally recorded on 10-4-25*

Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights with Dialight Ball LEDs, a Safetran Type 3 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, RECO LED gate lights, and an NEG LED gate light.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights with Dialight Ball LEDs, a Safetran gate mechanism, a RECO LED gate light, and NEG LED gate lights.

After catching the southbound mixed freight at Center Street, I heard another southbound approaching over the scanner, so we quickly hopped on down over to this crossing to see about catching it. A few minutes later, we were able to catch our third train of the day: a second southbound CSX mixed freight with an ET44AH leading an ES44AH on the head-end and another ES44AH working as the mid-train DPU and a friendly crew aboard who gave us a horn show as they passed.

This crossing is another nice one, featuring a mid-2000s CSX install that's basically still entirely original. The only changes here, other than the signage, appears to be that the closer signal had its gate arm replaced and half of the gate lights here were also replaced with NEG LEDs. Thankfully, both signals still retain all of their original Dialight Ball LEDs, along with the far signal still retaining its original Safetran Type 3 e-bell. The far signal even still retains an older diagonally-striped fiberglass gate arm, which is nice to see. Hopefully these signals remain unchanged for many more years to come, but, either way, I'm glad I got to record this crossing when I did as well.
