On October 22nd, I got on up very early in the morning and made a 4 hour drive to this crossing in Dyersburg, as I wanted to get some crossings on the CN Fulton Subdivision filmed before Memphis's weekly siren test. Unfortunately, for the first four hours or so I was waiting here, absolutely nothing came. Thankfully, eventually, I was able to catch my first train of the day: an empty CN coal train with a 100th Anniversary ET44AC pulling on the head-end and an AC44C6M working as the DPU!
This crossing is another great one, featuring a late-90s IC install that's still largely original. It appears that at some point in the 2000s, or possibly the very early-2010s, CN upgraded the signals here to LED. Thankfully, since then, absolutely nothing major has changed to this crossing, it appears. The far signal even still retains its original Safetran Hybrid bell, one of six remaining on the CN Fulton Subdivision. Thankfully, the Hybrid here still sounds nice and healthy, which is good to see. The far signal also still retains a pair of incandescent RECO gate lights, which is pretty nice to see as well. Hopefully this crossing remains unchanged for many more years to come, but, either way, I'm glad I got to film this when I did.
