*originally recorded on 10-22-25*
Signal on the left: 1 pair of Safetran 12x24 inch lights with Dialight Ball LEDs, 1 pair of Safetran 12x24 inch lights with GE Uniform Look LEDs, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.
Signal on the right: 1 pair of Safetran 12x24 inch lights with Safetran Fading LEDs, 1 pair of Safetran 12x24 inch lights with Harmon Fading LEDs, a Safetran Hybrid bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, RECO LED gate lights, and an NEG LED gate light.
After catching the southbound mixed freight on the north side of Gates, I immediately raced on across the town to this crossing on the south side of it to get it recorded. Thankfully, I was able to get here as the rear of the southbound was still rolling through, and get set-up shortly after. After a bit of waiting, I was able to catch my third and final train of the day: a northbound CN mixed freight with an AC44C6M leading a Dash-9 for power.
This crossing is another great one, and I'm glad I got to end my day off with it. The signals here appear to be a late-90s IC install, which is thankfully still mostly original. It appears that the only notable changes here occurred sometime between 2012 and when EthantheRailfanner first visited this crossing in 2020, when CN replaced most of the LEDs here with newer ones, with these replacement LEDs being a mix of literally every model of LED CN used after the Safetran Fading LEDs, which is kinda neat to see. Thankfully, despite these changes, the closer signal still retains its original pair of Safetran Fading LEDs in the front pair of lights. Even better, the closer signal even still retains its original Safetran Hybrid bell! Hopefully this crossing remains unchanged for many more years to come, but, either way, I'm quite glad I got to record this crossing when I did. With this video, I have also now recorded every remaining Safetran hybrid bell on the CN Fulton Sub!
