*originally recorded on 11-25-25*

Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights and a General Signals Type 1 electronic bell.

On the morning of November 25th, I got on up in Brooks and headed-out to do some railfanning before heading all the way home to Huntsville. I was originally planning on filming some stuff around Louisville, but I felt it was too wet around there to really do any railfanning, so I decided to head for the CSX Mainline Subdivision in the southern part of Kentucky to railfan instead. I was able to get out to this crossing and get set-up, where, after a bit of waiting, I was able to catch my first, and best, train of the day: CSX M209 with a YN2 AC44CW leading a CM44AC for power!
Also, apologies for the massive wind gust that blew through just as the crossing was about to activate. Not much I could do about that, sadly.

This crossing is a pretty nice one, featuring a gateless late-90s CSX install at it that's still entirely original! It's nice to finally get another one of these filmed, especially since it'd been a while since I last filmed one like this. I'm especially glad to see the original GS Type 1 e-bell is still here and sounding nice and healthy as well, I do always enjoy filming gateless crossings like this with GS Type 1 e-bells. Hopefully this crossing continues to remain unchanged for many more years to come, but, either way, I'm glad I got to record this crossing when I did.
