Just pull the lever way too hard!

Deutsche Bahn DOES NOT USE THOESE SIGNALS anymore
they use the same stuff the swiss railway uses
plus the writeing on that channel is what lookes to be polish

Actually, Deutsche Bahn (German Rail) don't install those signals anymore, but there are still some surviving on rural lines. Quite a funny video!

Bet traffic was delayed for some time while they replaced the shattered lighthead assembly!
One video comment said this aspect was how the signalman said:
'Drive on your own luck; I'm quitting.'
