If you look at the Carrollton TX section you should see crossings named by Kellersprings, Josey ln., Ryan ave. all owned by BNSF. None of those bells worked so I decided to call them all in and they weren't any of those cheap GS e-bells. They kept them be cause there was probably nothing wrong with them in the first place.
LETS GO BNSF!

That post kind of didn't make sense.
I got the part about calling BNSF about the Safetran bells, and they did nothing? Those bells didn't sound right from the beginning. Do you know if BNSF went back and fixed those Safetran bells, or if they didn't do anything.
If they did nothing, then that's not a good thing for BNSF to do.

WHAT IS UP WITH YOU
UNION PACIFIC KEEPS THEIR M-BELLS TOO as long as they work or can be fixed
i think youd be a great maintainer for bnsf because they dont care about anything
and you just showed me bnsf doesnt care by keeping DEAD BELLS AT THEIR CROSSINGS

UMM OK
bnsf isnt the only one that fixes bells
the best class 1 in America Union Pacific does the same thing
safetran m-bells are VERY unreliable and frequently break down all you have to do is fix the contracts and clean the bell and it works again

Seems like the Texas area is the only place to my knowledge that keeps mechanical bells on a main line. Arizona sure didn't do that around here.

Come visit UP's east-west mainline and Spine Line here in Iowa. You won't see any mechanical bells. UP replaced them with e-bells several years ago, even the ones that were in perfectly good condition.

WCH E-bells?? Those are the most sick sounding things I've ever heard. Those should be used on churches...not railroad crossings. GS is way better...
As for the best railroad...CN hands down. The worst...in my opinion...is NS...followed by BNSF.
