11

12

The WCH mechanical bell only rings from startup to when the gates fully lower.
The lights are from Safetran.
The signals start up with the train already in the crossing, going backwards!

13

14

15

The reason why the signals took so long to activate, is because the train is on a side track not used very often. The relays on that track are very close to the crossing, and the train didn't bother to wait until the gates finished lowering. Even though the train didn't wait, the person you see in picture 11 did flag the crossing.

16

17

18

19

Another view of another train coming back on the side track. The relays on this side of the crossing were are just as close to the at-grade, just like the other side. This time, the train waited 15 seconds before it entered the crossing, still a bit below the FRA mandated 20 second rule.
