THE FRA HAS THE CROSSING ENTRY INCORRECTLY NAMED AS WELL AS BEING OWNED BY UP, WHEN IT'S MOST LIKELY DGNO.

When this was a DGNO freight crossing, it only had 4 trains per day. Now that it is a DART passenger rail crossing, it has 140 trains per day on weekdays, and 108 trains per day on weekends.

These 12"x24" lights look like they weigh too much. They make the cantilevers sag, and it looks like these signals could come crashing down to the ground at any moment. There used to be a Little Ceasar's Pizza distribution center next to this crossing (you can see one of the trucks in the background).

New traffic lights on southbound Denton Dr. Notice the black-out sign, which illuminates with a picture of a train during the pre-emption phase.

By December 2010, many things have changed at this crossing. DGNO no longer has any freight customers in this area, so the old tracks were abandoned and removed. However, the DART Green Line has now opened and crosses Villa Creek at-grade. The saggy old Raco cantilever signals are long gone; in their place are 4 mast signals with quadrant gates, LED lights and 2 mechanical bells. Denton Drive is now 4 lanes instead of 2, and a traffic light has been installed at the corner of Denton & Villa Creek.
