There are many strange things about this crossing:

1) On the closest signal, the lights are mounted very high up on the cantilever.

2) The cantilever is one that can be extended or retracted.

3) The crossing has no bells.

4) Note the piece that holds the lights together is in the middle instead of on top - these are Griswold 8" lights.

5) There are no rear-facing lights on the mast.

 

9 years later, nothing has changed at this crossing except the light backgrounds have been re-painted black (back in 2002 they had faded to the point of appearing grey):

I'm afraid these signals may be replaced soon with gated mast signals, there are two reasons why I think this is a possibility: First, the new signals at the Main St. #1 crossing incorrectly had the DOT # for this crossing on them. Second, the next crossing down the line from this one (Crawford St.) already had it's cantilever signals replaced with gated mast signals.
