This crossing has two modern cantilevers much like those found at Dousman Street, with the gate arm mast attached directly to the back of the cantilever frame. In addition, there is an extra mast flasher to warn traffic on Pearl Street. It is gateless so that traffic continuing through on Pearl Street (driving parallel to the tracks) can still go through. All lights are 12" x 24" Safetran ball L.E.D.s, and all three signals have a General Signals electronic bell on top.
The crossing in the distance of Picture 3 is Howard St. The dark line at the top is my hand. I was using it to try and shield the camera to prevent the bright sunlight from washing out the picture, but I accidentally got a little in the top of the picture.

This train had a surprise, another locomotive on the back pushing in reverse! The conductor is standing outside on the platform. This locomotive is one of CN's widecab EMD locomotives, same as the GP40-2 but with the full-width "comfort cab". |
