Until early 2006, this bike/pedestrian path was a full-width street and was named Thornton Avenue. The crossing had a pair of gated signals up until that time. When the street was narrowed and closed to automobile traffic, the signals were removed and replaced with just crossbucks and miniature STOP signs. Yahara Parkway #2 kept its wigwags.
