from 2006 by Brenton81. This very unique crossing had wishbone
gates on it along with 8" UP LEDs. The C&NW had several more
of these before UP took over and replaced many of them. This was
the last such install left on the Kenosha Sub.
This road is closed off to vehicle traffic, but many pedestrians still use it to access the lake to the east.
By the summer of 2009, the wishbone gates were replaced with regular
aluminum gates. The gate lights I believe were transferred over
from the old gates.
By
2016, the gate lights on the eastern signal were replaced by 4" RECO
LEDs. The rest of the crossing remains the same.
In the 3rd video below from 2023, you'll see the Safetran M Bell was replaced by a WCH Type 3 E Bell. The WCH gate mechanism on the eastern signal was also replaced with a Safetran/Siemens one.
