These signals were installed in the mid-2010s, replacing a
long-inactive GRS setup from the B&M days. Note the original tall
GRS relay case was left as a memorial of sorts. Also note the white
strobe light atop the eastern signal, which flashes when the signals
are active.
This section of the former Boston & Maine white mountain branch still has a pulse of revenue freight, as NEGS operates
sporadic small freights (1-2 cars) through here to the 3M paper plant a
couple miles up the line from this crossing.
