Do these look like older crossings to anyone? To me the relay boxes look older, at least.ColeD wrote: ↑Wed Jan 15, 2020 5:24 pmAbandoned crossing:

Re: Tracks out of service
I'd say those crossing are abandoned as the tracks appear to be cut off from the mainline which runs next to the road. Wonder if this line was a spur one point?ColeD wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2020 10:14 pmDo these look like older crossings to anyone? Proud owner of a safetran mechanical bell and Griswold mechanical bell along with a pair of safetran 12x20 lights and a 8 inch light. Been a fan of trains since I was little. Main place I railfan on, The Sedalia Sub.

Looks like two separate spurs, likely leading to industries that have either long since died or stopped shipping by rail.Nascar Fan007 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2020 11:47 pmI'd say those crossing are abandoned as the tracks appear to be cut off from the mainline which runs next to the road. And yea, those are definitely some older signals, that second one's entirely 8 inch!
They/Them for me, please.

Wow, those are only about 50 miles from me! Never thought there'd still be standing equipment of that age so close to me.
Crossing pictures from Plant City, FL are finally here! viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2538

Re: Tracks out of service
Might be worth checking out some day, at least to get some pictures for the site.
Also, I thought you were moving to Virginia? Or has that not happened yet (assuming it hasn't fallen through)?

Looking again, I just noticed at the second one, there's an old four way traffic signal (Eagle maybe?) next to the tracks for some reason!freebrickproductions wrote: ↑Fri Jan 17, 2020 5:10 pmAnd yea, those are definitely some older signals, that second one's entirely 8 inch!

Wondering if the customer that was there handled hazardous material or something else dangerous, so the signal was there to let people know if it was safe to enter the property? Redstone Arsenal has a few signals like that around the rocket test stands.
They/Them for me, please.
