The Harbor sub is (was) filled with WRRS and RACO installs, with some of the bells being side mounted! About 1/3 of the line had extremely rare GRS Type D gate mechs, I believe only 2 are on active lines now, both in the greater LA area. I believe BNSF knows this line is a fan fave so they try not to replace much stuff, the most bizzare thing they have done on this line was replaced a RACO bell with a GS Type 3 and then replace that with a WCH Mech bell. In a span of 3 years. Most of the crossings on the line are quite original as well, most are 1960s ATSF installs with some 80s stuff sprinkled in there as well.
Don't believe those are GRS Type Ds, unless they're an extremely early variant. The GRS Type Ds I'm aware of look more like these. Either way, those GRS gate mechs are certainly a rare bird.

Do you have any proof they are? Like a catalogue listing or something?

I've done some research and i have discovered another gate mech like this one
https://www.google.com/maps/place/1348+ ... 19.1466772

sorry for the huge link, anyways, I have classified these 2 gate mechs as GRS Lightweights (which is the one on the harbor sub on 159th street) and the GRS Heavyweights (the one on the map link) there is no info anywhere else on the internet about these signals, so I might be the one to classify and give them their technical/nicknames, maybe :D
