Starting off as Pleasant Hill, this town would be renamed to its current name in 1880, in order to avoid confusion with Pleasant Mills in another county. This was notable for a very dangerous Tornado in the 1880s which destroyed the town. Today, this town is now known for Norfolk Southern's New Castle District between Sharonville and Fort Wayne.
