It's possible. Perhaps it supplements the stop sign at the crossing.
I followed those tracks a bit further and came across this...

And off topic, but funny as hell...
I'd like to thank the railroad for providing this high tech hitchin' spot for my burro while I do my roadside shopping!!!
:LOL3:

Notice on the "burro" crossing the lights are not flashing even though there are stop signs.

In some countries, it's a traditional setup to have a signal lite to indicate this is no train approaching. I think some flash white, but the signal red isn't doing that... in fact...

Perhaps it's because the crossings are brand new. Notice the gates are tied to the masts... the old cross buck signals next to the new ones... and railroad personnel.

I really love the US&S E-bells on the crossings, makes me want to get a some pictures if I ever go to Mexico.

That silly donkey rider...

Look on the other side of the crossing. Looks like the signal maintainer is sitting back and enjoying the donkey rider:

Absurd

How STUPID.
Why needlessly stop traffic, causing more fuel use, more pollution, more vehicle wear and tear and traffic impediment?
Traffic signal on the other side is illuminated but not this side.

Did people even read my post?

The signals are new. The crossings are probably being tested and set up.

No. I replied to the first post.
Did not see yours.
Now must look again, but I do not recall seeing a signal maintainer's truck.

Addendum:
He is probably a crossing guard. No truck with equipment.
Crossing signals are not operating.
Will they keep the STOP signs when they have operating crossing signals?

Also, I see no train detection relay shanty.
Just a solar electricity panel and battery storage box on a pole.
