He Walked Away!!!

This guy was railfanning in Georgia when he approached an unsigned private railroad crossing. He stopped at the tracks but due to the angle of the tracks and the high vegetation, he couldn't see the freight train approaching at 70 mph. The train struck this 2006 Hyundai Santa Fe on the rear quarter on the driver's side. It knocked the car off the tracks and when the train came to a stop, the engineer expected to find a body inside but instead, found the driver stumbling around in a nearby field, totally dazed and confused.

My local Hyundai dealer has these photos pinned up on the wall in the service department and get comments on it daily. Talk about luck.

I think it was both luck and stupidity. Stupid that he couldn't hear the train even at 70mph, you can usually hear them going that fast because they are sounding like a tornado, and lucky he survived that crash.

Remind me if i'm being stupid, but I think the driver may have been intoxicated.
