We (Prescott Valley) haven't had snow, but it's been very frigid here. Prescott had a 5-way tie for the 4th coldest high temperature of 22 on Wednesday, with the coldest high of all time being 20.

Flagstaff had a 4-way tie for the 7th coldest high temperature on record with 12. The coldest high recorded for them is 5.

It felt a lot colder though, because we've had a wind advisory through all of this. Prescott's wind chill went down as low as -7 with wind gusts around 40 MPH. Flagstaff's coldest wind chill was -23, and the best one is a bit north of Flagstaff around 12,356 feet in elevation up at the San Francisco Peaks. The wind chill up there at Agassiz Peak was at a near instant Frostbite, and Hypothermia temperature of -64!!!

BTW: Wednesday morning's low was 7.5. This morning was 5.5.

Well, it looks like the snow might take a detour around us. Looks like Tim Heller from ABC is our last hope. He says that precipitation is here, just not on the ground. :Censored: .

Very strange that it fell as rain, especially since around the Dallas area, it fell as snow.

I saw on The Weather Channel this morning that they showed video from McKinney, and there was snow on the ground there.

Well, all the snow that was supposed to hit Houston & south Texas... hit here instead  . Last night they were forecasting a chance of flurries with no accumulation expected. Woke up this morning to 6" of snow! And this is on top of the ice patches that still remain from Monday night. This weather is just plain freaky, this past week has literally been the worst winter weather we've had in over 20 years. Schools have been closed for 4 days now. ERCOT ordered rolling blackouts due to record high electrical demands on top of some weather-related power plant outages, and that has been political dynamite since hospitals and nursing homes lost power, while Cowboys stadium, the Dallas Convention Center (where the "NFL Experience" show is going on), and the downtown hotels were all "exempted" from rolling blackouts. What a crazy week!! Here are some pictures looking out the front door...

We got about a foot of snow this week on top of what we already had. Snow is nice up to a point (scenic, snow days, snowmen, etc...). After that, it causes all sorts of problems. I like snow, but there comes a point when there's just too much.

Snow is not nearly as bad as ice though.

Here is an example of how icy it is here. Taken out of my second-story office.

We dodged a bullet with the last one, as we only got 1/2 the amount of snow they predicted. It's another mix today with another snow threat coming in for Monday-Tuesday (Monday being a mix) and another storm threat on Thursday.

Lots of roofs collapsing up here because of the weight of the snow...
