Talk about other non-signal stuff here. Make sure to obey the rules though.

Whenever I mention a problem on this board it always ends up getting fixed with in the next couple of days. Today the crosswalk signal was fixed! The crosswalk signals no longer activate until their corresponding button is pushed, and the main road stays green longer now (so long as the detectors still detect traffic), allowing those who want to turn left more time to do so.

Most maintainers have accounts too, some just browse and if they spot a problem they fix it :Sneaky:

Yeah well I doubt that will happen in a million years where I live. More than half of the signals in this town are programmed to force the walk signal at all times of the day. It is frustrating!

Took this picture today. Its rare to see Red Arrows on turn signals out here, But it seems to be a new trend. This area is a complete mad house with all construction. I think the plan is to extend 141 to 364 including building a big bridge over Central Midland and build it up higher above the flood stage along with making it at least 4 lanes all the way through, but i cant find any info on modot.

I does drive me up a wall. It just takes me forever to get there waiting for the light to change. :Tongue1:

Case in point:

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source= ... 9,,1,-0.41

As you can see... walk signal is activated. Take a spin around... no pedestrians in sight.

If a car pulls up on the side street... I guarantee they will have to wait at least 60 to 90 seconds for that signal to cycle through the "dont walk" procedure and then finally give them a green light.

Damn we have a new count down by the high school I got every day and that thing counts down on the side street, but it only takes a little less than 30 seconds as long as no pedestrians are crossing.

I just don't understand why they insist on having the walk signal activate for intersections outside of downtown. :glare:

It makes sense to do this in high population areas because you are going to have pedestrians on almost every cycle, but not outside of downtown. That is why they have the "push to walk" buttons. If people aren't smart enough to use them... too bad!
