Northern AZ changes.

Post by illinoistrains »

A few changes from Northern AZ to report. The Beaver St, crossing had one of its crossing surfaces, the crossing in Maine also has its replaced, the biggest change from Maine is that the name of the road has been changed, Instead of Parks rd. it is now Garland Prairie Rd. Their is another name change from Flagstaff: Enterprise Rd. is now called Ponderosa Pkwy.

On the night of Sunday, the wayside horn at Fanning Dr. apparently broke, as a train blew the whole crossing sequence when it went across.

Or it could have been an Ol' head that didn't give a rats ass about the quiet zone, we have a few of them out here, straight up horn through all the crossings

I speak my mind, if you don't like that oh well. I'll have you fill out a hurt feelings report and submit that to my office.

Did the exit sign on I-40 say Garland Prairie, or Parks?

Also regarding Ponderosa Parkway/Enterprise, is the new road now open to the North?

Several years ago while still living in Fresno, you could always tell when some old hand (who thought he had too much seniority to work nights) was coming through town. He'd hit the horn somewhere about Herndon, and not lay off until Fowler. Just one, long, 15 minutes of fame.

The sign on the exit still says Parks, and a sign at the overpass said the road going north was Parks Rd. and the road going south (toward the crossing) is Garland Prairie.

I knew of the Parks names since I first went up there in 2002. The FRA said Parks, so I went with that for now. I'll look into it later on with different maps and see into renaming them later if possible.
