the gate is up! i have never seen this happen, however i have seen some cases (with amtrak)where the gate will be almost down when the trauin begins to pass.

If the crossing is on but the gate is up, then something is either wrong with the rail or the island. Case closed! There are multiple topics aout this and I think we all get the picture now.

What I'd like to know is were the signals activated long enough for the gate to go down when the picture was taken. Like if they kept turning on and off or were they activated the whole time and the gate just won't go down.
