I am sure most all people are familiar with the Canal Street crossing in Chicago? The crossing that had 4 Safetran mechanical bells? I am also sure most all people know that one of the M-bells was replaced with a WCH E-bell a few years ago. Doing some random searching I found this crossing on the former EJ&E Western sub now CN Leithton Sub. 4 signals, each equipped with a Safetran Hybrid bell. Granted the hybrids are technically E-bells, they sound like an M-bell to me, so good enough for me to call them an M-bell. With CN replacing nearly all crossing signals on the former EJ&E main lines I can foresee if it hasn't already happened yet that either all bells will be replaced with Safetran T-III E-bells or remove two bells and replace the other two with Safetran T-III's.

Re: Allow Me To Predict The Future
If there is an "Invensys", "Argus" or "Echelon" recording device installed, chances are that the crossing will get a Safetran 3 E bell.
Reason is, those bells have a computer chip in them that allows the recording device to sense the bell is working without running extra wires or requiring an external bell sensing device.

Just the facts, ma'am.

I've got to see what all this device will do and how it helps the railroad you'll have to show me sometime.MD2020 wrote: If there is an "Invensys", "Argus" or "Echelon" recording device installed, chances are that the crossing will get a Safetran 3 E bell.
