WRRS Model 10 Data Computer

Post by M_Ashman »

This is a small slide chart I came across. It is 7in long x 2.75 in high. It says copyright 1950. I don't think they would use the term "Data Computer" back in 1950. Anyone have any idea if this might be from the 1960's or 70's maybe?

From wikipedia: "The first use of the word "computer" was recorded in 1613, referring to a person who carried out calculations, or computations, and the word continued with the same meaning until the middle of the 20th century."

That's a neat thing you have, and yes it does 'compute' how to set up the crossing gate.

I have a booklet that GE put out in the 1960's called You and the Computer. I'm not sure where I put it, but if i find it , I will post some pictures.
