Looks to be well maintained. Not sure if it is just for display purposes or if it is operational like for a pedestrian crossing or something to that effect...

It looks like a display. They did a nice job restoring it, even has a yellow stop sign.

I'm stumped on this one. It looks real, but restored. Notice how the side light (I didn't see a second side light) had no background either. The yellow stop sign looked to be from the late 40s/early 50s, around the time period before the yellow stop sign was banned. The signs used back when the Griswolds were created used the blocky font, with possibly guidelines at the top and bottom of the text.

If this is a true, existing installation, I'm surprised that the railroad/state/county or whatever allowed it to stay this classic for this long, especially leaving it gateless for a 6 track crossing as well.

I believe this is the location of the photo and the Griswold stands at that narrow dirt road crossing. It may or may not be operational, but the Lake Superior Railroad Museum has done a nice job on it. :cool:
