Wow, unappealing name, but thats a neat operation there. Definately doesn't appear to be half assed.
Just the facts, ma'am.

Yeah It appears they run three different routes http://www.sierrarailroad.com/MD2020 wrote:Wow, unappealing name, but thats a neat operation there. Definately doesn't appear to be half assed.
They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Ben Franklin

I speak my mind, if you don't like that oh well. I'll have you fill out a hurt feelings report and submit that to my office.

A bit off topic, but I thought this was interesting. This is just south of Willitis. Defunct crossing with rather modern cantilevers, 12X20 lights, and... triangle gate motors on both sides!

A bit odd... wonder why the signal is installed so far away from the tracks? I'm guessing at one time there was additional tracks, but the signal is even further back than the equipment box.Caltrain927 wrote:Akron, OH on the CSX

Great catch there Paul! I am very jealous. That new HD street view camera is amazing. You can zoom in and actually read "US&S Co." right off the bell!
How far is Lodi from you? Would be a cool spot if those worked. (they seem to be in okay condition)
Cheers,
Joshua

Pleasanton, CA on a UP Mainline! Street View image still shows the crossing having 8" lights, videos show the updated crossing with 12x24 LED's, but the teardrop remained in place.

Unfortuately, this recent video shows that it has gone dead
