And there's a rather large light up sign hanging from the traffic signals pointed toward the crossing.SantaFebuff wrote:http://g.co/maps/jx23f - This one has an extra light with a weird lookin' cantilever.
Wonder what it says?
Perhaps, "Get off the ****ing tracks, ya ****amn re**rd."
We don't really have a lot of those around this part of the state. Probably because most Iowans don't stop to read $#1+ anyway.
Well,

We have those LED boards on the traffic signals on only one intersection out here, and on many in Watseka, IL. They read "No Right Turn" for cars going one way, and "No Left Turn" for the other direction. They are triggered by the crossing signals and prevent people from causing traffic jams trying to turn onto a road with only room for one or two cars. They even have a light blue arrow crossed out.
Hard to miss a big @$$ train coming through town, but some people...

Grand Ave. here in Phoenix has lots of those signs because the tracks parallel so close to the road. Since the intersections are right by the tracks, every crossing has 2-5 "Do Not Stop on Tracks" signs.SantaFebuff wrote:We have those LED boards on the traffic signals on only one intersection out here, and on many in Watseka, IL.
