Can't have signals without railroads, so talk about your favorite locomotives, railroads and any other (non signal) railroad related stuff.

The Rock River Cannonball

This runs around a 2-mile loop of 2' gauge track at Thresherman's Park near Edgerton, WI. The locomotive is a German-built tank engine heavily modified and converted to a tender engine to resemble a classic 19th century American locomotive.

Until this year, the only active warning device at any of the crossings was a WRRS mechanical bell on the crossing by the depot, which can be seen and heard here:

The crossing by the park entrance has always had hand-operated gates. This year, they added a Griswold crossing signal hooked up to a generator...with a semaphore and pinnacle mounted to the top of the mast!

Although the signal is hooked up to a generator (the orange object behind the crossbuck post), it does not appear to be working in the photo. I never saw it work when I was there either. I wonder if they have a proper flasher mechanism for it or if the lights all just light up together, or flash together (as they would with a turn signal flasher, for example).
