Found two more of these WCH gate mechanisms mounted directly to the cantilever on the YLSR, which comes tantalizingly close to interchanging with the CFNR in Woodland.

Here they are in hi-res, up-close and personal!

Another CSX train:
https://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ll=3 ... 17,,0,-7.9

This looks like a neat set-up:
https://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ll=3 ... 55,,0,1.98

Hmm.
https://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ll=3 ... 9,,0,-2.93

Nice signal job:
https://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ll=3 ... ,,0,-22.43

Hi-rail truck:
https://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ll=3 ... 43,,2,2.68
Not sure if this is the same truck at a different crossing:
https://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ll=3 ... 09,,1,5.05

Train going through what I assume is a closed crossing (the road on the other side of the tracks has the same name):
https://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ll=3 ... 99,,0,4.88

Active crossing:
https://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ll=3 ... 9,,0,-4.78

Just when you thought you had seen it all:
https://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ll=3 ... 3,,0,-0.23

Another active crossing:
https://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ll=3 ... .1,,0,5.66
Gates rise:
https://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ll=3 ... 83,,0,4.29

The following crossings have 12x20 GRS Plastic lights.
https://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ll=6 ... 1,,0,-2.54
https://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ll=6 ... 6,,0,10.04
https://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ll=6 ... 6,,0,-1.66
https://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ll=6 ... 2,,1,-2.46
https://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ll=6 ... 4,,2,-11.9
https://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ll=6 ... 13,,0,0.49
https://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ll=6 ... 4,,0,-2.93
https://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ll=6 ... 82,,0,2.44
https://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ll=6 ... 88,,0,0.68

Count the number of crossbucks:
https://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ll=6 ... 1,,1,-2.66

Tiny crossbuck:
https://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ll=6 ... 37,,1,0.99

As Kight said (I believe in another post)... not having to run the wires and all that fun stuff for the other mast makes it all that much easier for the maintainers.

Just realized we have a rather cool example of this not too far from my house. The newer looking cantilever was put in about 4 years ago after the older one was knocked down. The older cantilever on the other side has been there since the 80's at least. The gate is mounted to the cantilever on both: http://goo.gl/maps/cstRw.

Here is another crossing about a 1/2 mile down with an older style cantilever and the gate mounted to it: http://goo.gl/maps/WRWRw

I found a couple crossings in my area that has crossbuck fails

Here's a crossing on Lastrapes Street in Opelousas, LA, this one has the word "Crossing" upside down
https://maps.google.com/?ll=30.541745,- ... 6,,0,-2.69

Here's a crossing on Shrewsbury Road in Metairie, LA. This signal has a messed up crossbuck that says "Crossing Rail-Road". (This is a crossing that is on my list on getting)

Bridge-ception! :Tongue2: With a train.
https://maps.google.com/?ll=35.493172,- ... ,,0,-14.13
End of the train:
https://maps.google.com/?ll=35.493156,- ... 6,,2,-3.29

Odd bell mount:
https://maps.google.com/?ll=35.55112,-9 ... 50.61&z=19

Talk about a crazy intersection!
https://maps.google.com/?ll=35.565242,- ... -2.15&z=19
The cantilevers even have a traffic light on each them:
https://maps.google.com/?ll=35.565441,- ... 14.14&z=19
https://maps.google.com/?ll=35.565931,- ... -8.78&z=20
https://maps.google.com/?ll=35.5656,-97 ... -15.8&z=21
https://maps.google.com/?ll=35.565242,- ... -7.68&z=21

The crossing was closed but the signals still stand:
https://maps.google.com/?ll=35.567548,- ... -6.58&z=21
I wonder what this sign says:
https://maps.google.com/?ll=35.567548,- ... -6.19&z=21

A Santa Fe engine!
https://maps.google.com/?ll=35.603176,- ... 9&t=h&z=21

Shouldn't the signal protect the closer track?
https://maps.google.com/?ll=35.650302,- ... ,7.61&z=19

Looks like more maintenance is being done on the tracks:
https://maps.google.com/?ll=35.655483,- ... ,1.85&z=19

Active crossing:
https://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ll=3 ... 7,,2,-2.97
https://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ll=3 ... 45,,1,0.12
https://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ll=3 ... 26,,1,0.22
One of the flasher relay's needs to be fixed:
https://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ll=3 ... 7,,2,-4.31

Train:
https://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ll=3 ... 19,,0,0.68

Can't they get it right? :Curse1:
https://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ll=3 ... 38,,1,1.12

Two ASC E-bells! I posted this in the ASC E-bell topic.
https://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ll=3 ... ,,0,-22.04
https://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ll=3 ... ,,1,-21.11
They/Them for me, please.

It could be very well possible that the unprotected track is out of service, the signal is newer and or the railway company who owns that line just never ripped it out. After all, look at the condition of that one track compared to the other two.

Signal equipment their is protecting the mainline, protecting spur tracks can be a huge headache, which bad track conditions and ect.
Look at where the white stop line is its behind the second track.'
Also judging by the conditions of that spur it looks to be excepted track 5-10 MPH and a train would have to be shoved into the siding so the conductor would be riding the rear car and be able to jump off and flag the crossing.

I speak my mind, if you don't like that oh well. I'll have you fill out a hurt feelings report and submit that to my office.

Well look what streetview nabbed--a nifty little going-away shot at Lakeland Road.
https://maps.google.com/maps/myplaces?l ... -2.15&z=15
Also, Lakeland has 12x20 flashers and 0333s--these are quite uncommon on the BNSF Main between LA and Fullerton in this day and age.
