Hmmm...

Have to wonder if it is leaning like that due to a lack of maintenance. But it could have been hit as well. Who knows?

Pan Am Railways is doing real well as a railroad, Finally getting rid of the crappy fabricated adapters. Using 2-way NEG gate savers.

Another video from Maine of the crappy fabricated adapters.
Don't know whats funnier the gate or the commentary.

Also Winthrop Street, Hallowell, Maine That gate is broken, probable from wind.

One of the best videos I've seen in awhile,
But got to say the dumbass foamer who filmed this FOCUS ON THE ACTION NOT THE TRAIN and why blur out the stupid idiots?

Anyway Single direction NEG gate saver, they do allow some play when hit from behind but past that point something always has to give.
Gate is Aluminium/Fiberglass.

I'd say he did a fine job. What other "action" was there to get? As for the blurring I know what you mean but you can never be sure how people will react to finding their face posted all over the Internet doing something stupid. He probably figured better safe than sorry.

The action is the gate getting broken/sprung, not an SD70M-2 that NS owns hundreds of running down the line.
Switching between the gate and the train makes what would be a good video turn in to a motion sickness video.
Also if your going to burr out the faces do it right.

When he first jumped on the truck to try and pull the gate loose you can see him kind of brace for impact (not thinking the truck was far enough back). He then breathed a sigh of relief when it didn't.

That is the LAST thing I would have tried to do!

Ever wonder whats is like to ride in a locomotive hauling 8,000 trailing tons at 50MPH
While most of the time its a great job they're moments when peaceful turns into shear terror.
Ask ANY engineer/conductor what their greatest fear of hitting is and they will tell you
1. Any Hazmat tanker truck
2. School buss
While this video doesn't show an extreme close call, it does show how an engineer has to keep his eyes open at all times.

Captured some of this in Madison a couple of weeks ago. Accidentally started recording with the lens cap on, and got it off just moments before the gate smacked the roof of the van.
