Remaining Abandoned Crossing San Joaquin Valley Railroad

Post by Trainzmandude2012 »

I made a map of all the defunct crossings of Porterville, CA which have been removed now by the way and I know that all the ex- crossings there on the website already but no one has taken a picture of the crossings after removal. After finishing that, I took google maps to Strathmore. The next town over, I found this: https://maps.google.com/maps?q=Ave+196, ... 03,,0,7.28
Ave 200 is left with only a bell(which someone should take since it's all that's left that can be kept and preserved) along with the mast, an out of service sign and gate holder. With views zoomed out I can tell the town has bee been chipping away at the crossing. https://maps.google.com/maps?q=Ave+196, ... 0,1.067991 Anything beyond Strathmore to the south up to an oil plant below Richgrove, CA is trackless and no crossings are there. All they've done to this remaining signal is to leave it to rust. It might be too late.
