One interesting, and perhaps unique, set of out-of-service tracks is the East Broad Top Railroad in Pennsylvania. This 3' narrow gauge railroad's 33-mile main line ran from Mount Union south to a few miles beyond Robertsdale, with several branches. The railroad closed and was sold for scrap in 1956, but the buyer elected not to scrap it. Instead, in 1960, five miles of track in the Orbisonia area were rehabbed and opened as a tourist railroad using the line's original steam locomotives.

The sections of track north and south of the operating portion are still in place, heavily overgrown and rusted. Most of the grade crossings have been removed and the tracks are hard to spot from the roads, but a few still have the rails protruding from the pavement.

Near the south end of the line in Robertsdale:

Paved over rails in Three Springs:

GSV in the Fresno area shows this signal was finally gone as of 2011:

https://maps.google.com/maps?ll=36.7001 ... 5&t=h&z=19

Whenever they took the aerial views, it was still there:

https://maps.google.com/maps?ll=36.7002 ... 3&t=h&z=21

That line also had tracks up to the next crossing west of there:

https://maps.google.com/maps?ll=36.7003 ... 3,,0,11.11

Signals!

https://maps.google.com/maps?ll=36.7000 ... ,,0,0&z=20

The other one is in bad shape.

These first three crossings are featured on the site:
Tracks were cut just before this crossing:
https://maps.google.com/maps?q=Californ ... 09,,0,-0.7

https://maps.google.com/maps?q=Californ ... 7,,0,-0.76

https://maps.google.com/maps?q=Californ ... 24,,0,0.23

This crossing had signals:
https://maps.google.com/maps?q=Californ ... 78,,0,6.35

Same with this one:
https://maps.google.com/maps?q=Californ ... .12,,0,3.8

Abandoned railroad bridge remains:
https://maps.google.com/maps?q=Californ ... .23,,2,6.4
https://maps.google.com/maps?q=Californ ... 23,,0,8.39
With some tracks nearby:
https://maps.google.com/maps?q=Californ ... .4,,1,4.63

Signal remains. It appears that there was once a cantilever:
https://maps.google.com/maps?q=Californ ... 72,,0,7.84

The ROW became impossible to trace a little bit later.
They/Them for me, please.
